Be my big bad boogeyman

I had many dreams that made no sense at all.
I got up about at quarter to nine o’clock in the morning, and had to practically force myself to brush my teeth and take a shower after taking my morning medicine. I wonder why it’s always so hard to do chores, they’re so easy and simple and I never regret doing them. Am I silly or not?

I dressed into a pink 50’s dress with a pattern of unicorns, hearts, stars, skulls with bows, and cupcakes, with my black The Ramones hoodie vest, the one with golden and silvery paint splatters.

For breakfast I had microwaveable oatmeal porridge with organic Finnish liquid honey, a glass of milk, and my nutritional supplements, and then scrubbed my toilet bowl, rolled up the carpet and put it to the balcony to have it freshen up, and replaced the towels and bed sheets and put the week- old ones to the laundry basket, including the small rag rug I keep under my chair by the writing desk. I wash it every weekend, not because it’s dirty but I just like to keep it clean.

I went to visit my parents’ home, I barely made it to the bus 574 to Raappavuori. It was a breezy, sunny day, I knew it was going to be a pleasant one.

My brother hadn’t even visited home and there wasn’t any money, but I didn’t let it bother me.
I drank coffee until all the sugar and caffeine had psyched myself into a really boisterous mood, surfed on the Internet, and then went to Helsinki on the bus 421. And what do you know, on the way there brother mine sent me a text message and told me he had left the money at home.

Once in Helsinki, I immediately took the bus 322 to Raappavuori and went to a forest to take a quick pee.

Once at my parents’ home, there was a 20 euro bill and two euro coins, I took them and drank a cup of coffee, and then I walked to the Martinlaakso bus station and stopped to the Martinlaakso high school yard to swing at the swing set (I don’t know why a high school has a swing set, but to be honest, I don’t care why, it’s awesome).

I caught the bus 565 to Myyrmäki, went to Myyrmanni shopping center and visited the stationery shop to buy two lovely birthday cards, one for Terhi and one for Michi, and also a special pen that has hot pink ink and an eraser at the top which can be used to erase the ink. It’s perfect for writing a diary.

I went from shop to shop but didn’t find anything special to buy, and besides, I still had housework to do at home.

I went home, wrote and stamped the birthday cards, and decided to wash more laundry. It’s always the same on weekends when I feel too unmotivated to do the necessary housework (hoover and mop every square meter of the floor, including from under the furniture, replace the towels and bed sheets into clean ones, take out the recyclable waste, that is paper, carton, glass, and metal, keep the kitchen window and balcony door open to let fresh air in, scrub the toilet bowl and bathroom sink and mop the floor and scrub the shower walls and clean the bathroom cabinet and put the stuffs in there in better order, wash the towels and bed linen and the small rag rug, swab the writing desk, bedside drawer and kitchen counters, dust my artifacts and straighten them, and put my clothes into a neater order in my closet), I always postpone it by washing the laundry because it’s the easiest housework, all the other housework makes my back stiff and achy and my face drenched with sweat.

I managed to take all the stuff on the floor and lift it on the sofa- bed, take out the vacuum cleaner and the floor mop, and then I got bored and decided to head back to Myyrmanni shopping center.

I wanted to buy a 3D card that depicted a unicorn amidst roses, three coffee mugs with a print “World’s best Mother!/Father!/Brother!” and a shopping bag made of some sort of cotton or hemp or jute string woven into a web, I had a bag like that once but I misplaced it, and now I want one. Too bad I didn’t find any of them.

I was thinking of heading to downtown Helsinki, but all the trains were late and the buses were scarce. There are only two buses that go to downtown Helsinki from Myyrmäki, 39 and 411, and on Saturdays they leave only every 30 minutes. So I went back home and hung the laundry which was done by then, and washed even more laundry.

I made a promise to myself that if I get up from my bed early in the morning, later than eight o’clock and earlier than noon, I am going to do all the housework between those hours.
Of course, not too early because the noise could disturb the neighbors. And not right after I wake up, because I want to snooze until I feel like getting up, and not right after getting up because I need to do the morning chores first.

I’m thinking of staying at home for the rest of the evening, it’s getting late. If I go to Helsinki at this time of the day, once back at home I will be so exhausted that I won’t be able to do the evening routines.

I just noticed that the only solid food I have had today is a bowl of oatmeal porridge with honey, and I didn’t feel the slightest bit hungry. I still made myself a tuna sandwich to keep up my nutrition. I should really consult a doctor about my poor appetite.

Tomorrow, as I already promised, I will do the housework, and then I will go to Helsinki to sit in the harbour and write into my diary. I might also go to my parents’ home.
