In the dream I was harassed sexually by three ogre- like men, and it made me sad that I am not safe, not even in my own dreams.
Another dream was much lovelier; I learned that I can take a shortcut to my granny's home by walking past my first high school, which has been demolished by now.
I woke up at ten past nine o'clock in the morning, got up to take my meds, and flopped back to bed. I got up again at half past eleven o'clock in the morning, put lotion on my skin and dressed into a pair of black trousers and a black and green striped blouse, and put the pewter mermaid necklace I received from Zoya around my neck.
I called my mother and told her I am coming over for the holidays, she said it's alright.
I grabbed my suitcase on one arm, and the rolled- up mattress on another, and left.
It was a sunny, chilly, frosty, calm and still day outside, perfect for Xmas Eve.
I had a sore throat, a runny nose, and a red sore spot under my left eye.
I took a bus to my parents' home. Both mom and dad were there.
I took the mattress out of the package and put it on my bed, and put the wrapped- up Xmas gifts under the decorated Xmas tree.
Later the day dad drove me and mom to the cemetary in Helsinki, it's our Xmas tradition to light a candle by my maternal grandparents' shared grave.
After lighting the candle, we walked back to the car and I told mom how I feel like granny and grandpa are still watching me from Heaven. Mom smiled and asked me if I still remember granny and grandpa, and I said, of course.
It's been ten years since my grandparents died, and I still believe they're watching over me.
Dad drove us around in downtown, we adored the fairy lights and fir trees. Then we went to pick up my brother from his home, and then we went back to my parents' home.
Me and dad helped mom with cooking, and setting up the table.
We had an amazing feast of fresh figs, six different kind of cheese, cold- smoked salmon, salmon rue, and turkey and ham for my meat- eating family (I'm still a fish- eating vegetarian).
After dinner, we had cinnamon rolls, chocolate confections, and plum tarts with coffee, watched Xmas programs on TV, and then it was time to distribute the gifts.
My brother got a t- shirt, my dad got a bottle of shower gel, and my mom got a pair of fluffy socks and a cute hand towel with four of her favourite chocolate bars wrapped into it. They were all very happy, mom hugged me and told me I was the sweetest and kindest daughter ever (yes, I had bought the gifts and wrapped them up).
In the evening, I kept on nomming on chocolates and fiddling with my blog. Then I took my meds, put on my nightie, and went to bed.
Tomorrow I will chill at my parents' home, if my flu doesn't get worse I might go for a long walk around the neighborhood.
