I had to practically forced myself to wake up at noon. I simply opened my eyes, and got up right away.
I took my morning medicine, washed my face, and dressed up. I didn’t bother with doing the morning routines properly, because I knew today would be a busy day.
I called my mother and told her I am coming over, she said it’s alright.
I decided to take a bus to my parents’ home, because I didn’t have enough spoons for walking.
Once there, mom served me pea soup and coffee. I also ate a satsuma and a tomato and dark grapes.
Later the day my troubled alcoholic brother, the only sibling I have, called my mother, I heard him talk about a lease of 10,000 euros that he cannot pay back. I took it as a sign to leave.
I went to the newsagent at the local shopping mall, and recharged my travel card. I travelled to Helsinki and went to Twinkle café.
Mella gave me a late Valentine’s day gift, a notebook (thin, pine green canvas covers, blank pages, A5, with a small pocket on the cover where you can put a postcard) and two small basic lotion tubes, Aqualan Gel and Aqualan Duo. I was ever so grateful, I gave her a hug and thanked her.
Later the day, after the café was about to be closed, I helped Mella tidy up and then I left.
I didn’t feel like waiting for the tram, so I took a bus and then a subway to the city center.
I went to an eco- shop and bought two tongue cleaners (like toothbrushes, except they’re for your tongue. I’m going to take one of them to my granny’s home so I can use it, and another for my own home next month; I have taken up the habit of purchasing a new toothbrush, tongue brush, toilet brush, dishwashing brush, dishwashing gloves and housework gloves at the end of every month) and two packets of cotton swabs, and then I went to a jewelry shop and bought a silver- plated turtle pendant with pink glass shell on its back.
I travelled back to Hometown, went to the supermarket and bought two spray bottles of cleaning liquid, one for universal use and one for bathroom cleaning. I also bought a box of interdental brushes, and a lip balm.
Once back home, I put everything to their rightful places, surfed on the Internet, watched some horror movies, and did a little bit of this and that until it was time to take my evening medicine and go to bed.
I had cravings, so I ate the rest of the cream- filled Swiss roll, a bag of bite- sized Karelian pies, the rest of the crisps and some sandwiches, and I still felt like I wasn’t satisfied. I knew it was because my blood sugar was still a bit unstable. It could also be a sign that my period is due, I have been in such a mood for the past few days.
