pinup

I don’t know the reason behind it, but for the past week I have woken up in the small hours every morning.
I used to think that it’s only good that I wake up early, it’s good for the health instead of snoozing until late afternoon, but then again, it is ever so annoying to wake up at three o’clock in the morning and feel like you cannot sleep (or, in my case, I have the weird psychosomatic pain in my knee joints which prevents me from sleeping) and you cannot find anything special to do without disturbing the neighbours.
Well of course, I could have plenty of things to do; read the rest of the book Collected Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, knit more quilt squares, or watch Doctor Who on Netflix.

Anway, I went to the bathroom to take my morning medicine, and then I logged in to the online bank account to see if I had received the monthly allowance, yes I had. I closed my laptop and went back to bed and slept till ten o’clock.

After getting up, I put on clean underwear and a simple dress, then I went to Myyrmanni shopping center to withdraw the cash.
I went to Citymarket and bought a pair of Scholl insoles, those rubbery ones, and a bottle of industrial glue to fix the insoles into my boots because otherwise they wouldn’t stick.
The insoles are probably very nifty and useful, but they have an annoying habit to slide off from their proper places when I walk; I have had them before, and I couldn’t use them. Here’s to hoping they will work this time.

Later the day I had to leave again; me and my friend Eleclya were going to the movies to see Alice Through the Looking Glass.
I took a train to Tikkurila, then a bus to where Eleclya lives. Zie got aboard, and we travelled to Aviapolis and took a train to Helsinki, and we had to run to make it to the movie theater.
I had left at half past eleven o’clock, and the movie was shown at one o’clock. I guess I should have counted the hours better.
Nevertheless, we had a good time, cracking jokes and being happy.

Fortunately we made it to the movie theater in time, and I bought a big tub of popcorn.
We both enjoyed the movie. Nevertheless, I don’t understand why Tim Burton always uses the same actors, either Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter. Of course, they both are very talented actors.
I loved seeing Andrew Scott, the actor who played Jim Moriarty in the BBC Sherlock series, even in such a small role in the movie.
The ending was awesome, I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it yet. Mind you, I haven’t seen the first movie yet, but I requested it from the library on DVD.

After the movie we went to the modern art museum Kiasma, where I bought a postcard that I am going to put on my collage wall. It’s a drawn picture of a child reading a book while sitting on a sofa, being surrounded by fictional characters such as Pippi Longstocking, Sherlock Holmes, Mary Poppins, Little Prince, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, Pinocchio and the three little pigs.

Our friend Mirette came to see us, I paid hir a debt that I owed hir because zie bought me a bar of chocolate and a pair of socks.

We went to visit a shop named Fiorella in Kaisaniemi. In the 00’s they used to sell typical fashionable clothes along with fur coats, but nowadays they sell plenty of “alternative” clothes like soft grunge and chola. They also sell smartphone covers, espadrilles, ankle socks, emoji bacpacks and plushies.
I made an interesting combination with a turquoise tank top with a pattern of pizza slices and a purple heart with a text “All I care about is pizza” and a pair of black slacks with a red rose pattern.
We took a subway to Hakaniemi and went to visit the local UFF thrift store.
There was a discount, all clothes cost 2 euros apiece, and Mirette found all kinds of gorgeous clothes that zie bought.
I don’t usually like the discount sales at the UFF thrift stores when all my favourite clothes will be sold off in the blink of an eye, but of course, next week there will be more awesome clothes when they have a new selection. I will go check out the vintage clothing departments in the UFF shops in Freda, Iso- Roba, and Hakaniemi of course.

Our friend Odessa came to see us, zie was walking hir dog Kaapo who is a bichon havanese. We went to McDonald’s to have dinner, and then Eleclya and Odessa left.
I went to Hakaniemi Bazaar and bought a pair of orange cycling shorts.
Me and Mirette went to hir home to pick up some of hir stuffs, I had invited hir for a sleepover to my home.

I drank some cocoa made from rice milk while zie packed hir stuff. I was in a hyperactive mood, I had had such a fun day.
We took a subway to Rastila, then a bus to Myyrmäki. During the trip we took some friendship selfies and laughed at the “starter pack” memes.
Once in Myyrmäki, we went to Citymarket to buy some groceries.

Once at my home, the first thing to do was to glue the Scholl insoles into the bottom of my biker boots. I know it was to be untouched for 24 hours, but tomorrow me and Mirette will go for a walk, I will show hir around in my old home town.

I ordered some stuff from the Internet; a limited edition Deadpool DVD, two rechargeable Scholl foot files (one is for me, the other is going to be a birthday gift for Mirette) and a Disney figure, Tiana from Princess and The Frog.

🌟 Next week I will go see the movies Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows in the morning, then X- Men: Apocalypse in the afternoon, and finally Captain America: Civil War in the evening.
It’s all about this project about how am I going to feel after seeing three movies during day- time; of course, I can watch plenty of movies on DVD and Netflix, but I have never seen three full movies in a movie theater during the same day.
It’s going to be awesome, the only thing I am afraid is going to see the movie in the evening; as a woman, I have a natural fear of moving in the city at midnight, so I have to be extra careful. Fortunately there are buses leaving after midnight.

🍍 Speaking of movies, me and my friend Suavecita, Mirette, and Eleclya will go see the movie Ghostbusters next month. At some point me, Mirette, and Suavecita will go visit IKEA because me and Mirette need to buy some furniture, and Suavecita knows how to drive a car and assemble furniture.

🍒 I need three lamps; one for the ceiling, the old one is boring but I am still going to store it somewhere so I can put it back there if I move out of this apartment. I think I will buy a blue one with a pattern of white clouds.
I also need a wall lamp to the hallway, it’s ever so annoying that there isn’t a light source, I always have to turn on the bathroom light and keep the bathroom door wide open.
And when I get the bunk bed (I am going to buy it from my friend Emjuso’s old bunk bed, and ask Perkele to bring it to my home and assemble it), I also need a wall lamp for the upper bed, which is reserved for visitors. And a mattress would be nice for the upper bed as well. IKEA sells two kinds of wall lamps, one in the shape a yellow crescent moon and one a red heart, they are both awesome.
I also need another bureau of drawers, I can keep my underwear and CDs in the one that I already own, and towels and bed linen in another, and a book shelf for my DVDs and books, a small table and a couple of chairs into my kitchenette so I don’t have to eat my meals standing by the kitchen counter, and a coffee table into the middle of my apartment that serves as a living room, and also some towels and bed linen and light bulbs.

🍏 You might wonder, why I am awake at this time of the night? I have had such an amazing, eventful day, I am on such a natural high that I might not come down for hours now! 😵 I actually managed to sleep for a few hours, but my sleeping pattern has changed a bit so I don’t feel like sleeping much. Fortunately I don’t feel sleepy during daytime.

🍎 I really should go for walks more often, and also bike rides now that I have finally pumped my tires full of air. Getting my blood pumping and breathing plenty of fresh air would do wonders to both my mental and physical health.

🍐 I have decided that on the first day of August, I will go to the gym and work out as usual; first about fifteen minutes of stretching, then half an hour on the treadmill, and then about half an hour using every single one of the exercise machines.
On Tuesday I will go to the natatorium and try to swim at least 125 meters, and then spend at least 20 minutes in the sauna.
On Wednesday, when I will go visit my grandmother for a couple of days, I will wash my hair. I will bring my gym clothes and bathing suit so I can visit the local gym and natatorium, and then I will continue the same routine; gym, natatorium, hair wash, gym, natatorium, hair wash.

🍊 Speaking of gym, I need to buy proper sports socks and brassieres, they already sell them in Cubus where they have a sale right now.

🍋 Today I am going to do plenty of housework, and also go for a walk with Mirette. I'm going to show hir around in my hometown only a mile away, my childhood yards and stuff. I already gave hir my Converse All Stars shoes with a pair of new insoles, I can do with my biker boots.

🍈 As for housework, I need to take out the trash, hoover the floor, scrub the bathroom, and take the mattress out to dust it and dress my bed into clean linen, wash the week- old bedsheets and towels, re- arrange my stuff...

🍌 I was prescribed Bemetson cortisone emulsion to heal the scabby eczema on my scalp; I am supposed to rub it into my scalp once a day, but I don't always remember to do so and besides, my hair is on the way. But I must do it, considering that the eczema won't heal any other way.

🍉 My stomach is bloated to the point of pain, it serves me right for drinking a bajillion mugs of cocoa. I cannot help it, I have such a sweet tooth 😗

🍇 I wish I could draw comics, I have so many neat ideas for them! But I also have Luisa Rodriguez, an amazing artist whom I have known for almost ten years 😍 I always commission hir about my ideas, and zie makes them come true 😃

🍓 When people criticize smartphones and emojis and selfie sticks and Pokémon Go, it always reminds me about how people criticized bicycles, newspapers, telephones, televisions and such when they were first brought unto the public. The world has always been like that.

I stayed awake for most of the night, except that I managed to sleep for a few hours on the sofa- bed. But I got up very early in the morning, about at five o’clock.
Mirette, whom I had invited for a sleepover, slept on my bed, and zie seemingly slept pretty well even if I had taken the mattress off and put it to the balcony for the night so it would get freshened. Later the day I would take it out to dust it, and then dress my bed with clean linen, like I do every second weekend.

About at five o’clock in the morning I got up to take a poop, and surf on the Internet. Later the morning I took my medicine, and went to the balcony with my laptop in my bathrobe to sit on the aforementioned mattress and surf on the Internet, I still had my Finnish blogs to update about yesterday.

I took a shower and brushed my teeth, I should do that more often because it makes me feel good.
I sat on the sofa- bed to write into my diary, and suddenly I started feeling sleepy so I lied down and felt happy that I can sleep just when I feel like sleeping.

I slept for about an hour, and got up feeling energized. It’s amazing how wonderful a simple nap feels.

Soon it was afternoon, me and Mirette went for a walk around in Martinlaakso, we visited my childhood home yard and my old kindergarten playground, then we took a train back to Myyrmäki. I was supposed to fetch a package from the post office, but it was already closed. We went to the pharmacy because there was a free water fountain, and then we went to my home.

I had a headache, but otherwise I felt good after going for a walk. I felt very much refreshed and my legs felt stronger, I truly felt like my blood was circulating.

My headache just got worse, even if I wasn’t feeling hungry I decided to warm some soup for lunch, hoping that raising my blood sugar would ease the headache.
It didn’t help, I just threw up as soon as I ate a spoonful of the soup.

I took a couple of warm showers, and then took my evening medicine and went to bed even if it was only half past seven o’clock in the evening.
