As good as it gets

I have had so many good days in a row. I still remember when I moved into this apartment where I still live, I was so full of happiness that I think I would burst. Now I don’t feel the same kind of happiness anymore, but I feel like I am content enough and strong enough to face reality.

This morning I was awake about at eleven o’clock. I took my morning medicine, put on decent clothes and some jewellery, and then I called my mother and asked her if I can come over to collect the monthly allowance. She said it’s okay.

I took a bus to where my parents live, and we had coffee. I ate two tomatoes, a handful of peanuts, and drank two glasses of orange juice.

Me and mom took a bus downtown, she withdrew the money for me.

I took another bus to where I live, and bought a birthday card for my grandmother.
I popped back home to fetch a nightshirt that I wanted to be mended, then I called Mirette and asked hir if we can meet soon-ish because I wanted to go shopping. We agreed to meet in downtown Helsinki at quarter past four o’clock in the afternoon.

I went to visit my favourite dressmaker, zie agreed to fix the small hole under the arm of the nightshirt for free, because I was a regular customer.
Then I went to a Salvation Army flea market and bought a Hello Kitty duvet cover. It’s pink on the other side and red on the other, and it has pictures of Kitty White sipping on a lemonade in a summer dress.

I took a train to Helsinki and met Mirette downtown, we went to the Greyhound bus station where I bought a bus ticket to my grandmother’s home town and back.

We went to Gina Tricot where I bought three finger rings with semi- precious stones, and a set of enamel badges.

I decided it was time to go home, I still had to go to the gym. Me and Mirette caught a subway, zie got off at hir home and I travelled to another part of Helsinki and took a bus back to my own home town.

Once back home, I washed a load of laundry, took the badges and finger rings off the packets, wrote a greeting on grandmother’s birthday card, and then it was time to go to the gym.

I returned a stack of books and DVDs to the library, then I recycled a few bottles.

Once in the gym, I managed to walk on the treadmill for ten minutes at the average speed of 6,6 kilometers an hour.
I used all the exercise machines for about 20 lifts. I wonder why I couldn’t do more, I used to be able to walk on the treadmill for about half an hour and do more than 20 lifts. I guess it’s because it was late on a Friday evening, I was getting tired after being on my feet all day.
I should take up the habit of going to the gym or natatorium right after the morning routines, but then again, I work better “under pressure”, just like some students write their essays or finish their homework right before deadline.

Once back home, I took the clean bed sheets into the drying room, and then I washed my gym clothes.
I still had work to do; wash the dirty dishes and take the clean dishes from the drying cupboard and put them into the cupboard with the clean dishes, hang the laundry on the drying rack, iron the towels… I decided to do them tomorrow.
I still managed to dress my bed in clean sheets, and floss and brush my teeth and rinse my mouth with mouthwash.
